District is as tough as we've seen it for the boys and girls basketball programs as they face Clovis, Hobbs, and Roswell - but the Cavegirls have their sights set on the biggest stage in New Mexico High School Basketball, The Pit at UNM.

The Carlsbad Cavemen have their sights set on a district championship even with one of the toughest district teams in recent memory. Kyran Orgain is a large part of the Cavemen's offensive strategy with the ability to cut to the basket, finish at the rim, and shoot from distance. Jacob Chavarria is one of the team's best distributors with a stopping ability on defense that produces steals and disrupts opponents' rhythm.

Ben Freston is a physical therapist by trade, but one mentally strong athlete before and after hours. He completed a 100 mile race in under 30 hours without music (he might be partially a robot). He gave us insight on the struggles, the training regimen, mindset, and much more in this episode of All Sports Best!
Dance and cheer at Carlsbad High School is serious business. Each member works hard to learn each choreographed move and technique for the betterment of the team. Brooke Parrish is a senior captain for the dance team at CHS and has been doing it for a long time. Her leadership has kept her team sharp throughout the fall semester. Emilee Good does both dance and cheer so getting breaks are a foreign concept for her. This was a fun episode.
Abbey Dugan has been an outstanding athlete in Carlsbad since she started on varsity as an 8th grader. Though she would never tell you this, she is one of the best soccer players Carlsbad has ever seen. Somehow she has been able to balance her sports training and school to a point of being 2nd in her class.
Abbey will be playing soccer for Hardin Simmons University next year.
